The Seventeenth day of the war came. Duryodhana went to Salya and with folded hands made his request. He said, `Karna is going to kill Arjuna today but only flaw in his plan is, there is no charioteer in the world like Krishna. You are the only one who can equal or even excel the prowess of Krishna. Karna is sure to kill Arjuna, if only you could be kind enough to be his charioteer.` Initially Salya was furious. He said, `How dare you suggest that I a Kshatriya do the work of a Sutaputra for a sutaputra? I am great king. I wear a crown. I have been given the sacred coronation bath. I am a Maharathi. You are asking me to become a servant of a low-born? Despite your over confidence in him, he is no match to me. I can easily defeat him. I can fight Indra and defeat him. Do not insult me. I shall go back to my kingdom.`
Duryodhana again spoke with tears in his eyes. `My lord, who can dare to insult you? Who does not know your superiority? My request is only that since no one can match Krishna`s skill in charioteering except your honoured self. Most humbly we request you to guide the course of Karna`s chariot. So that he may kill Arjuna. It is like lord Brahma taking the reins of the chariot of Shiva when he went to kill Triparas.` Now, Salya was pleased with the humulity of Duryodhana. He said, `I am pleased to hear you say in the midst of all the army, That I am superior to Krishna. I will accept to become the charioteer of Karna.` Duryodhana fell at his feet to express his gratitude.
Karna too, was humilated to know that Salya had agreed to become his charioteer. He expressed his gratitude to Salya. He was pleased with Karnas. Salya went and prepared a chariot for Karna and brought it before him. Karna did pradakshina of his chariot and then saluted his father the sun. He made Salya enter the chariot first and they he followed him. Duryodhana gave him a fond farewell. Karna said that it is Arjuna or me, who would die in the battle. Salya had made a promise to Yudhisthira to dampen the enthusiasm of Karna to break his morals. He had been praising the Pandavas all they way and belittling Karna. Karna only said. `My lord, I do not wish to displease you by contradicting what you say.`
Karna had arranged his army beautifully today. Krishna said, `Arjuna today you must face Karna and kill him. Bhima has to kill Duryodhana.` The fight started in all its fury. Karna was decided for a fight to death. He wanted to put up the best possible show of his skills and prowess. Arjuna advanced alone. He saw that his sons Sushama, Satyasena and Vrishasena protected the chariot of Karna. The Pandavas who were ranged against Karna were, Satyaki, Dhristadhymna, Bhima, Shikhandi, sons of Draupadi, Nakula and Sahdeva. But they could not check the progress of Karna. Bhima killed Satyasena. The other two sons of Karna were wounded. The army of the Pandavas was no match to Karna today. It just blew away like clouds in a gale.
Yudhisthira came to face him. A great fight took place. Karna was hurt in the beginning but he fought back routing Satyaki and others who came to help Yudhisthira. He cut the bow of Yudhisthira to pieces. He also smashed the chariot of Yudhisthira. Then with an arrow he broke his armour too. Now Yudhisthira was standing there helpless at his mercy. Yudhisthira threw a few javeline at him but they all were broken into pieces. Then Karna touched him with his bow and said, You are one of the noblest of men born a Kshatriya but more a Brahmin by heart. Do not challenge your superiors. As you rightly said that I a sutaputra should not vie with the Kshatriya, my lord you, too have failed to act as a Kshatriya. Go to Arjuna you can never defeat me in a single combat. He then turned to the other side of the field.
Bhima was very angry at the insult offered to Yudhisthira. He advanced menacingly towards, Karna, Salya warned Karna about him. Bhima rushed at Karna and was able to hurt him so badly that he fainted. He came around soon and began fighting again. Arjuna defeated Ashvatthama in a duel. Yudhisthira again came to face Karna but was taken to his tent badly hurt. Arjuna and Krishna went to his tent to know about his welfare. Thereafter, Arjuna and Krishna re-entered the field and their horses were refreshed.
Arjuna asked Krishna to take him to Karna.Krishna took him to Karna. Salya saw the chariot of Arjuna coming towards Karna. By now Salya was very deeply impressed by the bravery, heroism and generosity of Karna. He had already stopped praising the Pandavas and denouncing Karna. He could see that there was no one in the battlefield that could match the sterling qualities of Karna. He was very much overwhelmed by Karna`s devotion to his duty and to his king.
He said Karna now the time has come to fulfill your promise to kill Arjuna. He is killing our army in hundreds and thousands, kill him. Then the Pandavas will lose the war. He further said, I know the prowess of Bhishma and Drona and I am no mean warrior myself. But no one can stand up to you. Only you can kill Arjuna. Karna`s eyes were filled with tears of gratitude, hearing the words of Salya. He said, my lord, you have made me the happiest person in the world. I feel very honoured and I shall try my best to live upto your expectations. You are my lord, master and friend with your blessings. I hope to kill Arjuna, kindly take me to meet him half way.
The chariot of Karna was stopped by Bhima and Satyaki. Satyaki killed Sushama, the son of Karna. Karna killed the son of Dhistadhyumna. Now Shikhandi, Janmejaya, Yudhamanyu, Uttamaujas and Dhritadhymna, five great warriors were fighting Karna. He defeated all of them and they all fled away from him. Duryodhana came to help him with his brother Dussasan. Bhima and Dussasan met and a terrible duel was fought. Both hated each other that put extra sharpness in their fight. Bhima said, `Dussasan I am grateful to you, Today by coming to fight with me. You have given me an opportunity to repay a debt.
I remember, your evil hands touched the blessed hair of Draupadi. Ever since, I think of your misdeed,I always wanted to repay you.` Bhima fought a long drawn duel with Dussasan. Finally he was able to smash his chariot and break his bow. Now Dussasan was fallen on the ground. Bhima caught him by his throat. Then he threw him on the ground. He cut his hands and threw them on the ground. He had promised to Draupadi that the evil hands, which touched her, would fall on the ground. Bhima ripped the chest of Dussasan. The blood from his heart spurted. Bhima put his lips to it. This terrible deed was performed by Bhima to fulfill his oath. The brother of Duryodhana, Dussasan was dead.
Vrishasena, the son of Karna, advanced towards the Pandavas army. The sharp arrows of Arjuna killed him while Karna was looking. Now, Karna was eager to fight Arjuna. The two greatest warriors were facing each other.
Their duel began, they started with the ordinary arrows, then warned up to the use of divine astras. They used astras of Agni, Varuna, Indra in turn and neutralized the astras of the other. Now, Karna, sent a terrible astra, a special gift of his guru, Parashurama, called Bhargavastra. This astra was more powerful than all the astras used so far by them. The army of the Pandavas was much harassed by this astra. Bhima was furious he told Arjuna to put an end to Karna otherwise he would kill him with his mace. Krishna asked Arjuna to go all out, otherwise, it would not be easy to kill Karna.
Arjuna invoked Brahmastra, Great upheavals took place in all the directions. It cleared the cloud of arrows created by Karna Now Karna sent another deadly astra. The astra illuminated the entire field. It went like lightening. Everyone was watching with bated breath. Even Devas like Surya and Indra had been watching the duel between the two.
Krishna did an unusual thing. He pressed his chariot and it sank six inches into the ground. As a result the astra aimed at Arjuna`s neck could hit his crown only. The famed Kiriti fell down on the ground but Arjuna remained unharmed. Now there was no astra as powerful in Karna`s arsenal. But he continued his fighting. The Pandavas could breath easier after they saw that Arjuna escaped from the dreadful Magastra.
Now the fate has started its work against Karna. The earth became soft all of sudden and the wheels of Karna`s chariot went deep in to the ground. The protectors of his wheels had run away already. Karna was getting furious. Then Arjuna sent Aindrastra at him. Karna could invoke Brahmastra to counter it with great efforts of will.Now his memory was failing and he had lost the power to invoke astras by saying appropriate incantations.
Karna pleaded with Arjuna that he could give him time to retrieve the wheels of his chariots. That was the rule of the righteous war. Krishna laughed and said, `talk of righteousness does not behove you. You have been the part of evil Duryodhana`s all sinful schemes, you never protested against the insulting treatment given to Draupadi in their court, rather you were a party to aggravate it by your insulting remarks. You cannot forget the recent killing of Abhimanyu. Do you think that was righteous. You talk of righteousness, I cannot check my laughter.`
Krishna`s words hurt Karna deeply. He knew the words of Krishna were true. Yet he went to retrieve the wheels of his chariot from the ground. But Arjuna`s arrows rained incessantly. He came up again and resumed fighting. Arjuna sent Agni, Varuna and Vayu astras. Now Karna was finding it difficult to remember incantations to invoke appropriate astras to make these ineffective. Yet Karna could not be hurt seriously. Again he was trying to retrieve the wheels of his chariot from the ground. Krishna prompted Arjuna to make haste. Karna should be killed without any loss of time. Arjuna sent an arrow, which was like Vajr, the weapon of Indra. It cut the head of Karna
Karna The Great 
There is a long list of incidents when Arjun got his ass kicked multiple times.
Those incidents are as herebelow :-
1. Arjun got his ass kicked when Pitamah Bheeshm was fucking all Pandavas during the war, including Arjun. Seeing his beloved Arjun getting badly fucked by Pitamah Bheeshma, Srikrishna took his Sudarshan Chakra and attacked Bheeshma. Thus Arjun’s ass was saved on the day.
2. Arjun got his ass kicked on the 13th day by King Susharma when he was fighting the Sanshaptakas. King Susharma shot three arrows on Arjun and each of them penetrated Arjun’s chest. If Srikrishna would not have saved his ass by good manuevering of his chariot, Susharma was sure to kill Arjun that day. Arjun’s ass was saved.
3. Arjun got his ass kicked on the 14th day by Guru Dron when Arjun tried penetrating the formation of Kaurav Army on the day when he had vowed to kill Jayadrath, but could not get past Guru Dron. Then on advice of Srikrishna, Arjun left the battle with Guru Dron unfinished, admitted defeat and went past him without taking the fight any further. That day, Arjun’s ass was saved due to his cowardice, else it was impossible for him to kill Jayadrath on the day.
4. Arjun’s ass got kicked by Bhagadatt when he shot his Vaishnavastra on Arjun. Arjun’s death was certain. However Srikrishna stood in between the Vaishnavastra and Arjun and saved Arjun from his certain death. Arjun’s life and his ass were saved.
5. Let alone Bhagadatta, even Bhagadatta’s elephant had attacked and fucked Arjun viciously and was about to trample him alongwith his chariot, when Srikrishna again, saved his life by excellent manuevouring of his chariot. Arjun’s ass and his life were saved.
6. Arjun got his ass kicked by Shrutayudh when he hurled his divine mace on Arjun. This mace was blessed by Varundev, who had given the boon to Shrutayudh saying that this mace would kill any of Shrutayudh’s enemies when used in battle and thus Shrutayudh was invincible in any battle, if he used this divine mace on his enemy. However, he had also said that if this mace would be used on anyone not participating in the battle and was unarmed, this mace would kill Shrutayudh instead. Thus when Shrutayudh hurled this mace on Arjun, Arjun’s death was a certainty. However, again it was Srikrishna who saved Arjun’s life and his ass. He stood in between the Divine Mace and Arjun and took the mace on himself. And since Srikrishna was not participating in the war and was also unarmed, the Mace turned on Shrutayudh and killed him instead. Thus Arjun’s life and his ass were saved.
7. Arjun got his ass kicked a second time on 14th day when, inspite of all efforts, he was not even able to reach till Jayadrath, let alone kill him. Srikrishna saved Arjun’s ass by blocking the SUN with his Sudarshan Chakra. Arjun was about to immolate himself for not being able to kill Jayadrath and when Jayadrath came forward, Srikrishna removed his Sudarshan from front of the SUN. Thus Srikrishna saved Arjun’s life and his ass.
8. Arjun got his ass kicked by Karna during the nighttime war after the killing of Jayadrath, when Karna was slaughtering the Pandav Army like sheep get slaughtered by a hungry lion. Even Arjun was not able to face the wrath of Karna’s arrows and his divine weapons. This time again Srikrishna saved Arjun’s ass when he sent Ghatotkach to face Karna instead of bringing Arjun face to face with his deadly adversary Karna. Ghatotkach was killed by Karna using his Vaasavi Shakti. If Srikrishna had brought Arjun face to face with Karna, he was surely to get killed by Karna who would have used his Vaasavi Shakti on Arjun for sure. Thus Srikrishna saved Arjun’s life and his ass again, but poor Ghatotkach’s life was sacrificed to save the life of Arjun. Poor Ghatotkach.
9. Arjun got his ass kicked by Guru Dron again, when fresh war ensured the next day morning after the nighttime war. Guru Dron this time was slaughtering the Pandav Army like some hapless sheep and none of the Pandavas was able to face him that morning. Arjun tried facing him, but again had to flee from Dron, because this time too he was not able to defeat Guru Dron, but instead, Guru Dron fucked Arjun like a hapless woman in front of a real man. This time again Srikrishna saved Arjun’s ass by taking his chariot away from Guru Dron, thus this was a second time Arjun left his battle with Guru Dron unfinished because he was unable to win it. This again was against the rules of war during that era.
10. Arjun was getting his ass fucked badly by Guru Dron and was not able to defeat him. Hence again Srikrishna saved his ass by conspiring a false story of Ashwatthama getting killed at the hands of Bhima and emotionally getting Guru Dron to lay down his weapons. Guru Dron laid down his weapons in grief after he heard that Ashwatthama got killed. Thereafter Dhrushtadyumna came forward and killed Guru Dron, who had already laid down his weapons and was sitting on the ground, meditating and had already left his body through yogic meditation. Arjun’s ass was saved.
11. Arjun’s ass got fucked by Ashwatthama when he shot his Narayanastra on the Pandavas. The Pandavas and their Army would have faced certain destruction had it not been for their saviour Srikrishna. Srikrishna instructed the Pandavas and their army to stand in front of the Narayanastra unarmed and humble, their hands folded. Thus the Narayanastra went back without destroying the Pandav Army and the Pandavas. Arjun’s life and his ass were saved.
12. Arjun’s ass got fucked by Ashwatthama again, when, after the Narayanastra went back, he shot his Agneyastra on the Pandav Army. This Agneyastra covered Arjun and the 1 Akshauhini Army which was fighting under his leadership. They were certain to be destroyed, all of them. However, alone Arjun was saved from destruction owing to the Divine protection he had in the form of Srikrishna and Srihanumanji. But the army of 1 Akshauhini got fried alive in the wrath of the Agneyastra. Arjun’s life was saved by Srikrishna, however Arjun could not save the army of 1 Akshauhini strength which was fighting under his leadership against the Kaurav Army. Arjun’s ass and his life was saved, but his army of 1 Akshauhini strength was fried alive by the Agneyastra.
13. On the 16th Day of battle, when Karna became the Supreme Commander of the Kaurav Army, his valour was at it’s peak. During the whole day of battle, he killed and slaughtered the Pandav Army like hapless sheep in front of a Lion. During the end of the day, seeing the merciless approach of Karna, all of the Pandav Maharathis including Arjun surrounded Karna from all sides and tried to kill him. However, Karna, with his might and valour forced all of them to flee from the battlefield, including Arjun. Arjun’s ass was fucked by Karna on the 16th day.
14. Karna and Arjun fought their final battle on the 17th Day of the Mahabharat War. Karna shot his Nagastra on Arjun. Arjun was hapless in front of it. Nagastra was aimed at Arjun’s throat and was sure to kill him. However, Srikrishna again saved the life and ass of Arjun by pressing the chariot with the thumb of his leg, so that the chariot sunk into the ground and the Nagastra hit Arjun’s crown instead of his throat. Thus Srikrishna saved Arjun’s life and his ass together.
Apart from these known examples Srikrishna and Srihanumanji were continously saving Arjun’s ass and his life from the innumerable weapons shot at him by various Kaurav Maharathis during the war. They kept Arjun perfectly safe in the chariot.
Thus, after the end of the Mahabharat War, when Srikrishna descended from Arjun’s chariot, he still kept the strings of the horses in his hand and told Arjun to get down from his chariot. When Arjun got down, he told Srihanumanji to descend from his place on the chariot. After Srihanumanji descended from his place on the chariot, Arjun’s chariot all of a sudden took to fire and got burnt into ashes.
Srikrishna told the surprised Arjun that, his chariot had been destroyed during the war long before, however it was the divine effect of the protection Arjun enjoyed during the war, given to him by Srihanumanji and HE himself, that the chariot remained intact during the war. Had there not been this protection which Arjun enjoyed during the war, Arjun would have got killed in this war long time back.
Thus there is no need to gloat over the exploits of Arjun during this war.
Arjun enjoyed all the divine protection and divine support during the war, whereas Karna was stripped off all the divine protection he had from his birth and then Arjun was able to kill Karna and that too by deciet.
All those who praise Arjun so much should think over their stand and should consider all the above-mentioned facts before even thinking of praising Arjun for something he absolutely does not deserve to be given any credit for it.

1.Arjuna defeated Bhisma Pitamah all the time. Bhishma was conquered by Arjuna and was taken out of the war field. Clearly described in Virata Parva Gograhana Parva. The reason why Krishna has to pick up his bow because Arjuna was fighting mildly due to his love on Bhisma Pitamah.
2.For your information, Susharma never defeated Arjuna. Yes, it was a long-fought battle. Though Arjuna swooned, he fought them singlehandedly & defeated Samsthapakas. Arjuna finally destroyed them on the 18th day of the war.
3.Arjuna only avoided Drona because Jayadrata was his target on the 14th day. He didn’t have time to waste & Krishna suggested avoiding Drona. But it does not mean that Arjuna cannot fight Drona. If Arjuna was no match to Drona then why did the latter say that as long as Partha is there it is impossible to capture Yudhishtira? Each time Drona attacked Yudhishthira, Arjuna not only foiled his plan but also defeated him. That was the reason why he planned to engage Arjuna with Susharma to accomplish the task
4.Bhagdatt Vaishnavastr was infallible with the boon. Arjuna battled Bhagadatta for eight continuous days and unable to prevail over Arjuna, Bhagadattta surrendered to Arjuna and asked him what he wants. Arjuna asked Bhagadatta to pay tribute for Pandavas as Yudhishthira was doing Rajasuya Yagya. Bhagadatta accepted and Arjuna left towards northern direction.
‘After defeating all of them, the mighty archer attacked Pragjyotisha. O lord of the earth! There was a mighty king named Bhagadatta there and the great-souled Pandava fought a great battle with him. Pragjyotisha was surrounded by kiratas, chinas and many other warriors who lived along the shores of the ocean. Having continuously fought with Dhananjaya for eight days and finding him to be still untiring on the field of battle, the king smilingly said, “O mighty-armed one! O descendant of the Kuru lineage! O son of the chastiser of Paka! This blazing valour in battle is appropriate for you. O son! I am a friend of Indra of the gods and can withstand Shakra in battle. But I cannot withstand you in battle. O Pandava! What is it that you want? What can I do for you? O mighty- armed one! O son! Tell me. I will do what you wish.” Arjuna replied, “King Yudhishthira, the son of dharma, is a bull among the Kurus. I wish that he may become the sovereign and others pay him tribute. You are my father’s friend and have been affectionate towards me too. Therefore, I cannot command you. Please pay it happily.” Bhagadatta said, “O son of Kunti! You are to me the way King Yudhishthira is. I will do all that. What else can I do for you?”’ Vaishampayana said, ‘Having thus conquered him, Kunti’s son, the mighty-armed Dhananjaya then went towards the north, protected by the lord of riches.’

5.The umberella and standard of Bhagadutta were cut.Pierced by Arjun’s arrows Bhagadutta was enraged.
He showered arrows on both Krishnas but Arjuna cut his bow and quivers and fastly struck him with seventy shafts ..Bhagadutta was in extreme pain.What happened before Vaishnavastra was hurled…that should be taken into consideration.
Supratika fell on the ground. Bhagadutta was mangled severely in his vital limbs.He being an aged warrior,he almost succumbed to pain and his elephant could not help him either.
This was the achievement of Arjuna that is looked down upon or overlooked in the wake of the Vaishnavastra fiasco. Why! Wasn’t Supratika uncontrollable to stalwarts Of Pandava army like Bhima and Satyaki? Arjuna came and brought them under control…that is the fact. whether accepted or not by others.I don’t bother.I believe in the Epic facts.

From that weapon flowed thousands of straight shafts. And those shafts struck Srutayus and Achyutayus, those mighty bowmen. And the arrows shot by the latter, pierced by those of Partha, coursed through the welkin. And the son of Pandu quickly baffling those arrows by the force of his own arrows, began to career over the field, encountering mighty car-warriors. Meanwhile Srutayus and Achyutayus were, by Arjuna’s arrowy showers, deprived of their arms and heads.

Firstly I agree with the story you told, but Karna never forgot anything he had all the knowledge in the world equal to Arjuna’s knowledge.
But You forgot to tell the store of Karna and his Curse, In his childhood and during his education from Parshuram, he was once cursed by his Guru because of getting shastra Vidhya with a Lie that he was a brahmin boy, when Parshuram found that he has a calibur and valor of Kshatriya then he cursed Karna, That all the knowledge he received from his guru will not work whenever he will need it the Most.
Thus When Arjun was all Set to Kill Karna, with Anjalika Astra karna tried to summon Bramhastra / Counter Astras and following the curse by Parshuram he couldnt wield those and as a result the curse came in between his life. As a Result then Arjun Killed Karna by beheading him.

The problem with u is that u always talk philosophically with no substantial proof…. Even if i ask u to prove your points from VYas MB, you only reply in philosophical language & expects me to accept your philosophical invalid claims….. You started this debate with your philosophical claim of : “In that Karna and Arjuna were regarded as the foremost bow men of the world and the deities of welkin were praising both”…
But when i asked u to prove your point from VYas MB, the you simply replied in philosophical & baseless language(with an altered tone of voice)…..
Buddy if u wish to post something in this blog or wants to have a healthy debate, then kindly giVe valid REFEENCES from VYas MB, because we never accept PERSONAL OPINIONS in this blog…..
And FYI, we all are Adults in this blog, & we all know what MB is & what it teaches to all… U dont need to negotiate between 2 bloggers, because both know what they are talking about… If u interprete a Conclusion from MB (e.g. Karna = Arjun), then u should be able to prove it to others (with proper proofs), otherwise nobody cares in this blog what u think…..
I appreciate you apologising me, but i would be more happy if u accept the facts of MB, rather than going by your biased favouritism for certain character of MB(like karna), because by this, u r only lying to yourself…..

See Brother…..I was not here for debate but got trapped in it….I love to read and I will be at a better place if I keep on reading the post of your bloggers…My main point wasabout not to criticize anyone. I believe in learning from the flaws of other(like charcter in MB) and learn from them….But I got criticized…
It was good to see you calling me brother(In genuine way) than to call me Bhai Sahab(In amusing way)…Its really humble of you after those previous comments of yours…
But yes ….I will stay neutral and by neutral means I will not say anything because everybody here hold different opinion which will lead to different sort of contention …
